Chilean Army Ammo Pouches (Pair) – Brazil Import, 1970s

$35.00

Authentic Chilean Army ammunition pouches from the Cold War era, imported during a crucial period when Chile strengthened its field equipment through alternative suppliers.

Following the Kennedy Amendment (February 1976), Chile faced restrictions on U.S. military supply at a time of heightened regional tension. This forced the Chilean Armed Forces to seek new sources of gear, leading to the import of large quantities of equipment from Brazil throughout the 1970s.

This Brazilian-made ammo pouches was produced by the same firm that supplied a broader range of web gear for the Chilean Army—packs, webbing components, and other essential load-bearing items—built for real service use in training and operational environments.

Collector detail: these pouches were based on the same design lineage as the “sterile” CIA-produced ammo pouches developed for Southeast Asia and later associated with MACV-SOG style equipment, also seen with allied and special operations elements in Laos and Cambodia during the early 1970s. A proven, minimalist concept adapted into Brazilian production for Chilean service use.

Designed to carry two 20-round magazines, they are made in khaki canvas and secure to the belt via a simple loop or metal hook style attachment (depending on the variant).

A key component for any complete Chilean Army 1970s webbing setup, perfect for collectors, display, reenactment, or uniform restoration.

Collector Notes: Examples may feature service wear, faded markings, or soldier-applied details, all of which add authenticity and make each pair unique.
