Chilean Experimental Camo Uniform – 1962 | Early Special Forces

Museum-grade experimental camouflage uniform used in 1962 by students of the first Commando Course of the Chilean Army, a historic milestone that marked the beginning of Special Forces in Chile.

This first course was conducted between October 1st and November 30th, 1962, at the Infantry School (Escuela de Infantería), within the framework of the creation of the Paratroopers & Special Forces School. The program was supported by U.S. Army advisors, including personnel linked to Rangers and Special Forces, helping shape the earliest foundations of Chilean commando training.

Unlike later standardized issue uniforms, this set shows unmistakable signs of field experimentation and adaptation, making it an extraordinary early example of Chilean special operations equipment.
