Chilean Army Commando Patch – Comandos N°10 “Pudeto” (Early Screen-Printed Variant)
Original Chilean Army Commando unit patch featuring the shield of Comandos N°10, one of the earliest division-level special units created in 1966 and assigned to the Regimiento de Infantería N°10 “Pudeto.”
In July 1973, the Commando company was transferred to Santiago for retraining at the Paratroopers & Special Forces School, originally scheduled until September 10th, 1973. Following the events of the armed forces uprising against the socialist government, the unit remained attached to the School’s strength and took part in operational actions in the capital, returning to Punta Arenas on December 24th, 1973 after a period of notable service.
The patch offered here is an early variant, featuring screen-printing (silkscreen) on fabric, a desirable detail that reflects the production methods used in older issue insignias and makes it especially attractive to serious collectors.
In February 1976, the unit was redesignated as “Compañía de Comandos N°9,” and from 1980 onward it continued its evolution as a counter-guerrilla unit in southern Chile—cementing its place in the history of Chilean Army Special Operations.
A highly desirable piece for collectors of Chilean militaria, Special Forces history, and Latin American unit insignias.
